I love living in the future. Have you read about NanoRBCs? Researches are manufacturing CELLS that can do various things in our bodies when our own cells fail to perform the way they are intended. They are being used to deliver drugs and as bioreactors - and they are doing trials on some (I believe in Japan?) that are for better gas exchange. That’s right - more efficient cells to pack around O2 and get rid of CO2. Think about the implications for cardiac patients… so much of the problems associated with heart disease stem from inefficient gas exchange over time. If we could correct that, we could correct the deadliest killer in America. The future is SO NEAT!
